Celebrate the season with springs, sprockets

Posted December 23, 2010

Holiday Springs and Sprockets: Art that Moves by Steve Gerberich is back this season at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham. Holiday Springs and Sprockets Celebrate the holidays with springs, sprockets

This holiday exhibit features five large mechanical themed sculptures, including Santa's flying reindeers and a 17-foot holiday train locomotive. The pieces are made with recycled and used materials. And kids have the chance to make things happen with buttons and pedals.

I had a chance to check out the exhibit this week. Learn more and see a few scenes from the exhibit, which is at the museum through Jan. 2, in the video. And make a note: The museum will be closed Christmas and New Year's Day.

Merry Christmas!
