Poll: How many kinds of cookies are you making this week?

Posted December 22, 2010

It's cooking making time!

My mom will be bringing our favorite lemon bars to the festivities on Friday. I'll be making seven layer bars and sugar cookies with my five-year-old. That's it for right now ... though I feel like we need just one more kind. Maybe gingerbread cookies? We'll see.

Check the box  just to the left for a few recipes including rugelach, cherry chocolate clusters and cashew-cherry biscotti.

So what's going on in your kitchen this week?

Will you be (or are you already) up to your elbows in flour, sugar and butter? Or do you leave the baking to somebody else? What kinds are you making?

Vote in our poll. Share in the comments!

Merry Christmas!

I will be making about three different kinds of cookies..gingerbread, chocolate chip, peanut butter blossoms, and some chocolate chip pecan bars....I am also baking all the desserts for our annual Christmas dinner....and yes, baking is my life....I do it for a living...

I love how food traditions can begin and continue as your family grows up. When my kids were very young we shopped at a kitchen supply store and purchased a cookie cutter that came with a delicious recipe for roll and cut out sugar cookies. THE best in our opinion. Ever since, on every Christmas eve, we have baked these cookies and decorated them with icing and colored sugars. I plan to keep this tradition going with my grandson too!

The only baking I'll be doing is possibly some muffins (straight from the bag of mix) on Christmas morning. Not that I don't love cookies, I just can't be bothered to add to the calorie fest this year.
