Museums, a puppet show open up this afternoon

Folks are thawing out. And some local museums and other family destinations are opening up.

Here are a few that I've heard about from emails, Twitter, etc.

Marbles Kids Museum and its IMAX theater open at 1 p.m.

Kazoom Puppet Theatre in Raleigh will have a 3 p.m. show. Doors open at 2:40 p.m.

Monkey Joe's is open in Raleigh (thanks purplecrossbutterfly for sharing in my earlier snow day post).

The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences opened at 11 a.m. The special exhibit Animal Grossology will not be open today.

The Museum of Life and Science opened at noon, according to its Twitter account.

Kidzu Children's Museum and Morehead Planetarium are both closed for the day.
