Recall: Two million Graco strollers
About two million Graco strollers were recalled after four children were strangled and another five became trapped.
Posted — UpdatedI haven't written about recalls in a while, but this is a big one.
Graco is recalling about two million of its strollers due to risk of entrapment and strangulation. According to a press release from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, there are four reports of infants being strangled in these strollers between 2003 and 2005. And there are five reports of infants becoming trapped, resulting on cuts and bruises, and one report of an infant having trouble breathing.
The problem happens, especially in infants younger than a year, when the child is not strapped in. An infant can slip through the opening between the tray and the seat bottom and his neck can become trapped by the tray.
