Durham elementary school-aged kids are invited to enter a poster contest to celebrate recycling in Durham.

Keep Durham Beautiful and the Durham County General Services Department have organized the contest, which will be used to create a 2011 calendar in celebration of America Recycles Day on Nov. 15.

The grand prize winner will have their poster on the calendar cover and receive a $200 U.S. savings bond. Twelve other submissions will be chosen for each month of the year.

Recycling should be the theme of all the posters. All submissions must be postmarked on or received by Keep Durham Beautiful, 2011 Fay St., Durham N.C. 27704 by end of the business day on Nov. 9.

Before your child gets to work, go to www.KeepDurhamBeautiful.org for official contest rules and more details.
