I introduced Alma Hoffmann on Monday. She is owner of Write More Educational Resources in north Raleigh. The former school teacher has found that her passion is in helping young children improve their writing skills.

She's written books on the topic, developed a product line and for the last few years has offered camps and programs for kids in second through eighth grade.

For the next four weeks, she'll be offering tips for parents who would like to help their own kids improve their writing skills. Today, she's talking about when parents can expect a typical child to reach certain milestones when it comes to writing.

And check back over the next three Wednesdays for more tips.
