Stroller Strides is continuing its expansion into the area with a new program for expectant moms.
Missy Currin, owner of Stroller Strides of Midtown Raleigh, will start Fit4Baby next month. Since the spring, Currin, has offered Stroller Strides for moms and their stroller-riding kids on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at North Hills.
Fit4Baby will offer a one-hour total body interval workout with strength training, cardio and flexibility exercises. Exercises will be adjusted to accommodate expectant moms and their various stages of pregnancy. And instructors will offer information about the pregnancy stages, how best to care for themselves and the preparation process for motherhood.
And Currin has plenty of information to share. The mom of one is a former labor and delivery and OB nurse. She told me she's thrilled to get the chance to help pregnant women again.
Classes will run in five-week sessions at 10 a.m. on Saturdays. The first five-week session will kick off Oct. 9 at the N.C. Museum of Art.
Currin says pregnant women should get a physician's clearance before starting Fit4Baby or any exercise program. For details, call Missy at (888) 760-0142 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The region's other Stroller Strides franchise also announced a new program a couple of weeks ago. Jen Kedrowski of Stroller Strides Raleigh started Raleigh Running Mamas, a 5K training programs for moms, this month.
