Pizza, movie for $5 in Apex

Halle Cultural Arts Center in Apex will offer its regular Pizza & a Show on Aug. 26.

The event, which runs about once a month or so, features a family-friendly flick, pizza, bottled water and a dessert.

The featured movie this month is the PG-rated "Furry Vengeance," starring Brendan Fraser. Fraser plays Dan Sanders, a man who moves his family to the country where he's put in charge of developing a suburban neighborhood in a wooded area. He soon finds himself in a battle with the local wildlife.

Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Kids 2 and under are free. Tickets for everybody else are $5. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The movie starts at 6 p.m. Seating is limited.
