There's kind of a new inflatables place in town.

I write "kind of" because Kid Blast in Angier, about 20 or 30 minutes from Raleigh in Harnett County, opened back in November. So it's been around, but I'm just now adding it to our indoor playgrounds and inflatables resource page.

Stacey Thompson, a mom of two, opened Kid Blast with her husband because there wasn't much else for families to do together in the area, she told me.

Kid Blast features a collection of inflatables along with batting cages, an arcade and concession stand. And there's an outdoor, sheltered mini-golf course. There's a special area for toddlers and another for babies. Kid Blast also offers summer camps and after school programs, along with special events.

You can play for half price on Monday and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., which Thompson tells me has been a really popular deal. And Kid Blast has monthly specials, which are posted on its website. In August, visitors get 20 percent off the $10 general admission on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

So far, the business has been a popular spot for families in the area. And Thompson's own kids don't mind going to the office with her.

"I thought they would get tired of it by now and they don't," she tells me. "They're here about every day and they don't get tired of it."

They might just be the happiest kids in Angier.
