It's back-to-school time. And as I wrote earlier, this week and next week, the experts from N.C. Parent Consultants will offer some tips for moms and dads of kids headed back to school.
We'll go up to the high school years. But today we start at the youngest kids: preschoolers.
Karen Buchanan, a psychologist who helped many a family during her 26 years at Project Enlightenment in Raleigh, has some tips today to make the transition for you and your 2-, 3- or 4-year-old a little bit easier. There's advice on dealing with separation anxiety, a reminder that routines are important and more. Check the video for my interview with her.
And go to N.C. Parent Consultants' website for more about the group made up of former parent counselors at Wake County's Project Enlightenment. They offer counseling for parents, teachers and caregivers through one-on-one sessions and workshops.
And stay tuned Wednesday for tips for rising kindergartners.
