My husband absolutely hates going to the doctor. I’m not kidding. I cannot get him to go have his teeth cleaned or keep up with his cholesterol or blood pressure. I remember once – when we were first dating – I had to drag him to the ER after days of being unable to eat or drink anything! I think my success was based solely on the fact that he was incredibly dehydrated and couldn’t fight back. Oh yes, he’s that bad. I’m sure there are other ladies out there who can identify…

That said – it was a sweet breath of fresh air when our current situation cropped up to find that hounding him was not necessary.

He’s already been for two analysis appointments and he’s been meeting with a specialist. That doctor, in turn, made a discovery that could be the key to unlocking our infertility puzzle! Turns out my husband has what’s most easily described as a varicose vein. From what I understand, it can change the temperature of stuff down there, which can impact fertility. The problem could be caused by any number of things: sports, heredity, etc. The best part is – he actually agreed to go in for surgery to have it removed!

I know this wasn’t easy for him; especially for a guy who shies away from going to get a run-of-the-mill blood test. I told him, he’s taking one for Team Bowley! It’s a clear indicator to me of just how much he wants this…and how much he knows I do too.

He’s a great role model for our nieces and nephew and I think he could make a great Daddy one day.
