The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences has extended its illustration contest in celebration of its very popular BugFest and its special exhibit "GLOW: Living Lights."

Kids and adults are invited to illustrate their best and most realistic version of a bioluminescent (like fireflies) or aquatic bug in its natural surroundings. Entries will now be accepted through Aug. 31.

Winning entries will be displayed at BugFest on Sept. 11. The grand prize winner will be selected that day by event attendees.

And all contest entrants will get one free children's admission to GLOW, which explores why lightning bugs and other creatures light up. The exhibit runs through Sept. 12.
