Carolina Parent's Baby Fair set for this weekend

If you're planning or expecting a baby or are cuddling a newborn in your arms right now, you should head over to Carolina Parent's annual Baby Fair next weekend.

The fair is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the American Institute of Healthcare and Fitness at 8300 Health Park in Raleigh. The event will be a chance for parents - new, expectant or prospective - a chance to learn about local businesses that provide all kinds of baby and pregnancy-related products and services.

Hundreds have come out to past fairs. And attendees will get the chance to win door prizes, including baby toys, humidifiers, gift certificates and more. They'll also get a goody bag.

“We are very excited about this year’s event,” Carolina Parent marketing director Robin Hutchison said. “We have a great group of sponsors and exhibitors that run the gamut of services from family planning and fertility to child care and after-school care.”

About 30 vendors are expected to showcase their products at the event. I'm told many of them have been mompreneurs in the past (those would be moms with their own businesses). If you're interested in being an exhibitor at the fair, there's still time. Click here for details.

And if you can't make Saturday, the magazine will launch an online baby fair on its website June 25. It will remain on the site for a year and will serve as a virtual expo where parents can download coupons and brochures, watch videos and interact with local baby and pregnancy-related businesses.
