Tookie's Toys closing

Posted June 4, 2010

Sad news from Tookie's Toys.

Store owners Katherine and John Hodges sent an email today announcing that they will be closing their Cameron Village location later this month. The announcement comes just a few months after they closed their north Raleigh store.

"The economic downturn of the past two years has severely impacted our business and we are no longer able to continue operating," they wrote in the email. "While we love this business dearly, we have decided that now is the time to move on to our next adventure. We appreciate the support you have given us over the past nine years."

A storewide 20 percent off sale starts today. The store also is selling its fixtures, displays and equipment.

Very sad for our community and for the owners, who are the most generous, kind people.

very sad day. katherine and her husband are class acts and their kindness and absolute joy for creating fun for kids of all ages will be missed.
