Search for your favorite public pool

Published: 2010-05-27 20:49:00

Last week, I posted a list of public pools in the area.

Well, I figured I'd put them into a database so I could include the hours of operation and little bit more information about each pool.

So check out our sortable list of public pools in the Triangle. (Lee and Cumberland County readers, there's something here for you).

I'll keep this list in the "Don't Miss It" section on the front page of Go Ask Mom so it's handy for you all summer.

A note: It does not include neighborhood pools, private pools or pools that require a membership. But if there's a public pool that's not on the list, I'm happy to add it. Just let me know.

And if there is a private club with a pool that you think Go Ask Mom readers should know about, feel free to add it below in the comments.

Happy swimming!

Nope ... mom of 2munchkins. From what I understand, you do not need a membership to swim at Smithfield. Though the costs for a day pass seem more expensive than most.

Here's a link with information: http://smithfieldrecreationandaquaticscenter.blogspot.com/2009/03/faqs.html

Sarah

Don't you have to have a membership for the Smithfield Recreation & Aquatic Center?

I also just added the pools and dive tank in Wilson.

egarrison2 ... No, there are no public pools in Garner, Clayton or Fuquay-Varina. I had checked their websites earlier, but just called their parks and rec department to verify and that's what I learned.

Smithfield, however, recently opened an indoor aquatics center. And I'm adding it to the list now.

Are there no public pools in the Garner/Clayton/Fuquay area?

Agreed on Optimist. They just redid the bathhouse too ... so that's all a little newer and fresher than some you might find elsewhere.

Sarah

Optimist is pretty good for a public pool..they have a high dive

The Angier Pool will be open this summer, we passed the certification for Virginia Graham Baker Act. Go see our Website http://angierpool.com/ However it is a private pool and membership is required
