This week, let's see if we can help a mom from Goldsboro. She's on a frustrating search for summer care, especially for her 11-year-old daughter.

Here's what Tynisha wrote in an email to me:

"Hello! I'm writing half way out of frustration, so excuse me in advance. So...I'm in Goldsboro and I'm trying to find summer care for my two children. My son is 5 and my daughter is 11. I'm not having any luck. It seems as though people assume that just because you have a tween that they can stay home alone. Not saying that my daughter would not be able to do it, but for safety reasons (and with the way kids are being attacked and kidnapped by sex offenders) I would rather have her in someone's care (i.e. summer camp). Can you help? Do any of the readers have any ideas? And hopefully ideas that don't cost me over $200/week. I'm a single parent and...well, that's a bit much on my income. But any help would be greatly appreciated. (I guess this email isn't as bad as I expected)."

Even if you don't live in Goldsboro, I'm sure some of you have some ideas that could help her. So please share!

We try and help moms out about every week with our occasional series "Help a Mom." If you have a question for Go Ask Mom readers, email me.
