Forest Hills sprayground to open Friday in Durham

It's just about time for the region's seasonal pools and spraygrounds to open. Looks like Forest Hills sprayground in Durham will be the first.

The Durham park's sprayground is scheduled to open Friday. It's located at 1639 University Dr. The city's other spraygrounds are scheduled to open next month: Hillside, 1221 Sawyer St., on June 12 and Edison Johnson, 500 W. Murray Ave., on June 14. The sprayground at East End Park and E.D. Mickle Community Center will be closed this season for construction.

For those who don't know, a sprayground has water features that you can run through, play in and sit down.

The city's seasonal pools will open June 12.

The region's other seasonal pools, including Raleigh's, will be opening in the next couple of weeks. I'll have more next week. So stay tuned.
