Peak Fest will fill up downtown Apex this weekend. And the Halle Cultural Arts Center on North Salem Street will be at the center of it.

The center will host the family stage during the festival, which includes a magic show at 10 a.m. Saturday.

But it's also home to other kids programs and events throughout the year.

On May 22, Grey Seal Puppets will present "Salsa Cinderella" at the center. I actually saw this puppet show two years ago, where the characters from Cinderella are all ingredients in salsa, elsewhere. My five-year-old still remembers it.

The center also offers summer camps and trackout programs. And they hold popular Pizza and a Movie nights on some Thursday nights throughout the year where for $5 you get dinner and a movie.

David Wood and Renee Anderson took the time to speak with me about all that Halle has to offer, including what you'll find there this weekend during Peak Fest and the town's popular July 4 (on July 3 this year) celebration.

And be sure to check back on the center's website for updates on events and activities.
