New studies and reports have found that more women are reentering the workforce as families struggle to survive during the recession.

The Bisher family is no different. When Blair Bisher was laid off last year from his job as a pastor in Rhode Island, the family moved back to Raleigh and Sarah Bisher launched her own business: Abigail's Bakeshop.

Baking had been a hobby for Sarah for years. And she launched a website a few years ago when she started selling some of her goods. But with Blair's layoff, the couple, parents to three kids, decided to see if they could turn it into a family business.

And so far, business has been good. Sarah makes goodies by special order for all kinds of events, including birthday parties, weddings and more.

I took one for the team here and got to take some of Sarah's cupcakes home to my own family.

"Holy cow!" my five-year-old exclaimed when we cut into a chocolate cake with some strawberry filling.

Moist cake. Frosting that's just the right sweetness. They're good. Really good.

Learn more about Sarah in this video, where she'll also give a tip on how to ice a perfect-looking cupcake.
