Stroller Strides opens with free event at North Hills

Posted April 19, 2010

You might remember my post a month or so ago about Stroller Strides opening in the Cary/Apex/south Raleigh area.

Another franchise is opening this week ... this time in midtown Raleigh at North Hills.

Missy Currin, a former labor and delivery nurse and Raleigh mom of a little boy, is the owner. And she's getting ready for a big grand opening at 10 a.m. Wednesday at North Hills. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. The event is at the same time as North Hills' new kids series.

So in addition to a free workout for you, there also will be all kinds of big blocks and other things for your kids to play with before or after on North Hills commons, which is that square of "grass" by the movie theater. (And on a related note, Starbucks at North Hills will be giving away free coffee on Mondays and Wednesdays as part of the kids series).

As part of the Stroller Strides grand opening, Missy says she has so much swag that she's not sure if it will all fit in the bags. And she's got some fun giveaways from North Hills merchants. Who doesn't love to hear that?

The workout will take you through North Hills with stops for exercises (or calming a fussy baby) at various points. It's designed for all fitness levels, so if you're not in the best shape, don't worry. You'll make it.

Missy will lead workouts at North Hills on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Stroller Strides also includes playgroups and other activities as part of their program. Click here for details, including information about the various packages she offers.

And Missy was kind enough to talk with me the other day at North Hills. Check this video to learn more. She also shows off a couple of exercise moves that you can do at home with your own stroller.
