I'm excited about being a part of the CoolKidz Expo from April 17 to April 18 at the Raleigh Convention Center.

I'll be there all weekend. Amanda Lamb, WRAL-TV reporter, Go Ask Mom blogger, and author, will be there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 17 with her book "Smotherhood." And we're going to have some great giveaways and contests for those of you who stop by to see me. More on that later.

But first things first ... We've got a great giveaway for CoolKidz. The event will feature all sorts of products and gear for kids, along with some great entertainment. Click here for all the details.

Go Ask Mom can get you in for free.

We're giving away four prizes.

I've got one CoolKidz VIP Grand Prize Package, which includes:

  • 4 tickets to the Expo (April 17 or 18)
  • VIP seats at the premiere of The Rusty Bucket pilot episode, "Lincoln, Journey to 16."
  • Guaranteed auditions at the casting call on Sunday, April 18 for children 8 years and older for future Rusty Bucket episodes.
  • CoolKidz Prize Bag containing items from sponsors like Crayola, Patch Products and The Rusty Bucket TV Show.

And there are three CoolKidz VIP Prize Packages, including:

  • 4 tickets to the Expo (April 17 or 18)
  • Guaranteed auditions at the casting call on Sunday, April 18 for children 8 years and older for future Rusty Bucket episodes.
  • CoolKidz Prize Bag containing items from sponsors like Crayola, Patch Products and The Rusty Bucket TV Show.

What do you need to do to win? There are three ways:

Subscribe to our weekday newsletter by clicking here; follow @wralmoms on Twitter and tweet about the contest; and tell us your favorite way to stay cool in the hot weather in the comments below.

Contest ends at noon, Tuesday April 13. Winners will be picked randomly, contacted by email and announced on the site once they're confirmed.

Good luck!

I stay cool in the summer by spending Wednesday evenings at the bowling alley with my youngest daugther and then swim meets with my oldest daughter at the Y on the weekends.

I stay cool with my kids with our slip n slide in the backyard! As fun as it is though, I'm just not as cut out for it as I was when I was a kid!

Our family has several ways of staying cool. One way is to give the dog a bath in his pool. We make a homemade slip-n-slid from an old tarp and a sprinkler. And finally, my older boys love to have "war" games with their super soaker water guns.

My kids are still small, so we fill up a kiddie pool in a shady part of the yard with a bunch of pool toys and play. Sometimes we invite friends over - and on the hottest days, the moms all sit with feet in the pool, too!

We stay cool by having water balloon fights. I spend the morning filling up a bucket for everyone then by the afternoon we are ready to take aim. My 5 yr old can't get enough of it. She loves it. When all the balloons are gone we sit and eat icey pops while we dry off! That's my husbands favorite part!

Best way to stay cool is going to our neighborhood pool early in the morning and enjoying a poolside lunch.
