Run (or walk) to support Girls on the Run
The Triangle chapter of Girls on the Run will celebrate its tenth anniversary next month. Find out about the program which teaches girls to be comfortable in their own bodies.
Posted — UpdatedIt's open to all girls, of all walks of life. Because, as Kelly Hurter, director of the Triangle chapter told me, all girls can use support as they grow and begin to make their way in the world.
As you might guess, running has something to do with it. The program incorporates training for a 3.1 mile non-competitive run or walk as a way to teach about health, wellness and leadership and to encourage healthy habits and an active lifestyle.
Kelly, a mom of two, took some time out to talk to me more about the program. Check this video for more information.
