Help a mom: Vacation spots for toddlers

Posted March 22, 2010

In the next in our occasional series that I'm calling "Help a Mom," a Go Ask Mom reader posed this question:

"I'm looking for some good vacation spots for my 16 month old - Do you have any good ideas?"

I'd suggest a beach vacation ... or something similar where you stay in one spot the entire time. That way the child can get used to the space and you can fall into some routines, maybe get some decent naps. Add Grandma to the mix and you might actually relax as well ...

What do you think?

And if you have a question for our readers, email me.

The beach with my kids has never been relaxing. I still have to cook, I still end up doing laundry and we have even more bath times because of the sand. A relaxing vacation for me is going to Disney World, staying in a WDW resort, and having the dining plan so all meals are prepaid for and I don't have to cook at all! And we sit back and use WDW transportation to get around so my husband doesn't even drive. And it doesn't have to cost a fortune. In fact, it cost more for us to rent a house and stay at the beach.

The beach is our favorite place - we have a 2 year old. We rent a friend's house at Carolina Beach for a week with my sister and nieces. It is easy to have a routine, yet be somewhere different.
