If you look at our consignment sale list, you'll see that many of the sales happen at area churches. Often, the proceeds help local charities.
And that's the case with the Kidz Stuff Consignment Sale at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh. The public sale is 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 4; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 5; and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday (when some items are 50 percent off).

Kristen Muse, a mom of two and the minister with children at Hayes Barton Baptist Church, and Charlotte Versfeld, a mom of one who helps organize the sale, were kind enough to spend some time with me last week to talk about who their sale benefits and how many pounds of clothes they've donated.

The Durham Rescue Mission's Good Samaritan Shelter, Wake Forest Seminary spouses, Wake County Public Schools, Helping Hands Ministry and Hilburn Drive Elementary School are among the groups who have been helped by the sale.
