Lynda Loveland

I spent yesterday watching my oldest daughter, age, 6 years.

We dug out old video tapes of her, on her tummy, flailing around, learning to crawl. She was probably 5 or 6 months old. Man did she have some seriously huge cheeks. It brought back all those sweet memories … the baby smell, the soft skin, the bonding. Kinda made me want to have another one. That baby addiction thing is tough to get over, isn’t it?

Later that day, my daughter took off for the first time on her bike. I watched her as she quickly mastered it and than rode off down the street to her friend’s house. I stood in the middle of the street, staring at her back in disbelief. What happened to my baby?? Where has the time gone? Cue the Kleenex.

That night, she lost her second tooth. Waaaaaaaahhhh!

I agree. My little girl is now 8 years old. Half way through 3rd grade, playing competitive soccer against girls two years her senior. My husband and I just can't believe how fast time is passing by. But, we are enjoying every minute of her.

It doesn't stop when they are grown either my 2 are out of the house. I'll look at an old photo & think to myself "I sure miss them being little"

I understand where your coming from. I have 2 girls ages 4 & 8. I look at my 8 year old who seems so grown up and ask myself where has my sweet baby gone. They grow up so fast you cannot blink or you'll miss it. Great story Linda, keep them coming.
