With winter weather in the forecast, a couple of museums already have made the decision to close and postpone events slated for this weekend.

Astronomy Days at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences, which was scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, was moved to next Saturday, Feb. 6. The event, celebrating all things astronomy and great for grade schoolers and up, will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Feb. 6.

And the N.C. Museum of History has rescheduled its Ninth Annual African American Cultural Celebration for Saturday, June 5. The celebration will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 5.

Both the history and natural sciences museums will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

I was just over at Marbles today and the folks there told me they are figuring out their plans.

Stay tuned to WRAL.com and Go Ask Mom for the latest on closing and cancellations.
