2010 Spring Consignment Sale Season

I have a few hobbies and one of them is children's consignment sale shopping. I'm not a cheapskate ... OK, maybe I am. But I just can't see spending retail on something that I know my kids are either going to spit up on, stain or otherwise soil, and grow out of really quickly.

I have a few hobbies and one of them is children's consignment sale shopping. I'm not a cheapskate ... OK, maybe I am. But I just can't see spending retail on something that I know my kids are either going to spit up on, stain or otherwise soil, and grow out of really quickly.

If you're among the uninitiated, children's consignment sales are often organized by local moms or church groups. Some just sell clothes, but most have both toys and clothes and even maternity clothes. The sales are usually held twice a year - in the winter/early spring (where spring and summer clothes are sold) and late summer/early fall (when fall and winter clothes are sold).

The big one ... the Kids Exchange at the State Fairgrounds was last month ... but there are many, many yet to come.

Here's a list of the upcoming sales with the public sale dates. If you consign or volunteer at a sale, you can shop before the public does and get the best deals. Please check a sale's website to learn more about how to consign or volunteer.
