Kids pack Raleigh's new indoor playground

Raleigh opened a new park late last year in an old Dollar General store in a North Raleigh strip mall. The result is a one-of-a-kind (at least for the Triangle) indoor public playground that's now drawing hundreds of kids a day.

Greystone Recreation Center, at 7713 Lead Mine Road, is 9,600 square feet and includes the playground, a rock climbing wall, a dance studio and two classrooms (which can be rented for birthday parties).

The center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  I'm told it's best to get there right when it opens to avoid the crowd.
