The Mothers of Preschoolers group at Holland's United Methodist Church in south Raleigh is planning an open house on Tuesday to launch the new year.

The group invites moms to come out to learn more about what the group offers. The open house is 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the church's fellowship hall, 9433 Ten Ten Rd., Raleigh. The group currently consists of 27 moms and their 54 children. You do not need to be a member of Holland's to participate in its MOPS program.

I've written about MOPS, part of an international Christian organization, before. The program offers fellowship for moms while their children are cared for.

The group at Holland's meets regularly from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., on the first and third Tuesdays, from September to May. Moms meet together to listen to guest speakers, participate in craft days and share personal testimonies. The kids play together and take part in other activities.

If you're interested in joining the group at Holland's, send an email to mops@hollandsumc.org. There are many other MOPS groups in the region. Check MOPS.org to find other locations in the area.
