Bull City Craft in Durham has some special events and new classes this fall.

The store, which I wrote about soon after it opened, is at 2501 University Dr. Here's what's scheduled:

  • Kids Art Mart, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 9. Showcasing art and handmade delights by four local preteen girls. Items include photo cards, recycled art, and hand stitched creatures. Items will be for sale and will remain on display for the month of September. We'll also have free refreshments and face painting.
  • Preschool Playcraft, 11 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays. Open crafting time with different centers including paint, play dough, crafts, and toys. For ages 1 to 5. $5 per child )sibling discount available.
  • Mommy and Me Art, 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Mondays, Sept. 10 to Oct. 14. Let us lead you and your little one down a creative path of discovery. We're starting a six week session of art classes for ages 2-5 accompanied by an adult. Your child can explore a variety of materials and improve fine motor skills through fun painting and art projects. We'll take care of the planning and best of all, the mess! Call or stop by to register. $50 for six-week session.
  • After School Art, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays, Sept. 10 to Oct. 15. Multimedia art: a little painting, a little collage, a little sculpture. Make and take home an awesome hot air balloon sculpture, plus lots of other projects! For ages 5 to 8. $65 for six-week session.
  • Watercolor for Kids, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays, Sept. 11 to Oct. 16. For ages 8 to 12. $65 per six-week session.
