Katy Brown was thrilled when she learned that she had won four tickets to one of the Carolina Diamonds fastpitch softball games this week here on Go Ask Mom.

Brown's twin 14-year-old daughters are huge softball fans. Both play for the 14U Triangle Lightning, a local travel softball team. When the Carolina Diamonds found out about their love of the sport, they asked Brown if her daughters had any interest in serving as bat girls during Thursday night's game. And, indeed, they were!

"My daughters were the bat girls for the pro fastpitch teams and had an unbelievable night!" Brown wrote me this morning. "A real dream come true, they will never forget it!"

Brown sent over two pictures from last night, which I thought I'd share. There also are some other pictures of Thursday's game and the team's meet and greet with kids at Marbles Kids Museum on Tuesday in this image gallery.

The Carolina Diamonds are part of a league of elite fastpitch female softball teams. They are playing this week at Five County Stadium in Zebulon. A final game is set for 7:15 p.m. tonight (though keep an eye on the weather). Tickets range from $9 to $15. Click here for tickets. Click here for my earlier post about the team.

They'll play the USSSA Pride of Florida, which includes seven former Olympians - Gold Medalists Natasha Watley, Cat Osterman, Jessica Mendoza and Kelly Kretschman; Silver Medalists Caitlin Lowe, Lauren Lappin and Andrea Duran. The Carolina Diamonds players include Canadian Olympian Caitlin Lever; along with College World Series Champions: Katie Burkhart, Annie Lockwood, Amanda Locke and Jazlyn Lunceford.

Thank you to the Carolina Diamonds for giving Brown's daughters such an amazing opportunity!
