The North Carolina chapter of MomsRising, a mother's advocacy group, is planning a Family Night Out in Raleigh on Wednesday.

The group will provide lemonade and a pizza dinner with healthy side items. There also will be crafts for the kids, along with helpers to guide them. Moms and dads are welcome to learn more about the group, which works to protect funding for early learning, infant mortality prevention and other programs in North Carolina.

It's set for 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Cameron Village Regional Library. At 6 p.m., N.C. MomsRising campaign director Beth Messersmith, who writes for Go Ask Mom monthly, will share a quick update on what MomsRising members have worked on and what's ahead.
