Help a Mom: Searching for parents' night out programs

Posted July 31, 2012

I received this email from a reader a day ago. She is looking for a parents' night out program where parents can drop off their kids for a few hours while they go out on the town.

Here's what she wrote:

Some friends and I are planning a ladies night out while our boys go out for a bachelor party. Most of us have children. It would be great if we could find [a parents' night out program] for the Saturday we want to go out on Aug. 18 so that we could all use it and go have fun. Our kids would all have a blast playing with each other as well.

The families lives in Raleigh, she tells me. The kids range in age from 3 to 8.

I second Kool Kidz in Apex and Morrisville. They have a Parents Night 0ut once and sometimes twice a month. Great staff and the one in Apex is 5 mins from Beaver creek shopping center ( movies and restaurants)

We also love RightTime Kids. At first I just dropped my son (4) when I had no other childcare options, but now he asks to go, so I make it a point to take him more often. I have always felt great about the staff and he has always had a great time.

    Another from my inbox:

I am not sure where exactly you want to hang out but if you plan to be in durham, there is a place called SEW crafty and they do drop in some times. its down town durham.

Also (good memory!), I did write about Right Time Kids: http://www.wral.com/lifestyles/goaskmom/blogpost/8068905/

There is a cheerleading squad in Apex that my daughter has been a member of for 3 years now. They have just moved into a larger gym, and they do PNO's every other week from 5-9pm for $15 per child, and offer extended care from 9-10:30PM for an additional $5.00. The weekend of August 18th will be themed on wearing bright colors so the kids can have a "Blacklight Party". The website is www.alpha-athletics.com

I absolutely agree with all of the posts below, Right Time Kids is the first choice in this area, and has exceeded my expectations every time I have used their services for my little ones.

I would have to second the comments about Right Time Kids. I know that their service and commitment to the kids in their stores are their top priority.

I have been to several child care centers in my area and have been completely blown away by the high standards at Right Time Kids. My daughter loves it there and I know that my princess is in good hands! I have a monthly girls night out and Right Time Kids has made it possible. :)
