The moms of NC MomsRising are planning a Durham playdate Thursday morning at Durham County Public Library's main branch.
At the event, MomsRising members, who lobby for family-friendly policies and write monthly here on Go Ask Mom, will share stories and talk about their efforts. The group pushes for better maternity and paternity leave policies; open flexible work options; elimination of toxic chemicals from products; paid sick days, among other issues.
The playdate also includes lemonade and healthy treats, along with crafts for the kids.
It's from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, at the library at 300 N. Roxboro St. in Durham. The event takes place in the library's meeting room in the back of the children's reading room.
The group plans some weekend playdates in the future.

I think it really helps if you're of the "progressive" mind already. But I'm sure they will browbeat you into hating America faster than you can say 'community organizing'. Oh, and bring your kids!
