I wrote about Emily McCall's plan to build a Stay & Play Snack Cafe in Durham last week.

She is working to raise $17,000 to open the business, which would cater to adults and their young children. With just 24 hours left to go, she is getting close. At last check, 147 supporters had pledged a total of $12,765. Supporters earn everything from a pass to visit the cafe to free coffee. UPDATE: It looks like McCall reached her goal this afternoon. At last check around 2 p.m., supporters had pledged $17,273. McCall has told me that if things go as planned, she would like to open in late September.
McCall would like to open the cafe in a spot somewhere in downtown Durham. She envisions a place with toys and activities for the kids, good food and a fun place to hang out for the parents. Read more about it in my earlier post.
And check out her campaign on Kickstarter.com to learn more about the project and how you can support it. I know there are a lot of parents in the Triangle eager to see this open.

Good luck Emily!
