Mark this for your calendar as summer vacation (for some of us) wraps up: Mordecai Historic Park will hold a Free Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 17.
The park will offer free tours of Mordecai House, the oldest home in Raleigh on its original foundation, and a collection of historic buildings, including the Birthplace of Andrew Johnson, 17th president of the United States.
The park offers free tours twice a year. Click here for details about the park, which sits near downtown Raleigh at 1 Mimosa St.
Tours at Mordecai usually cost between $2 and $5 depending on the age of the tour goer and the length of the tour.
