Help a Mom: Best kids menus

Posted July 10, 2012

My colleagues over at's Out & About section have asked me to write a Five Faves post on my favorite kids menus at locally owned restaurants in the Triangle.

My kids often choose meals from the full menu because the choices for kids at so many restaurants is pitiful. For me, the perfect kids menu might offer some classic "kid favorites" like chicken nuggets and burgers, but also include smaller portions of regular entrees on the menu, along with healthy sides.

I have my favorites. But I'm quite sure I haven't visited every possible locally owned restaurant in the Triangle. Do you have a favorite? If so, please share and I'll include some of your recommendations in my post later this month.

Please share your favorites in the comments box below. (If you don't see the comments box below, you'll need to log in or sign up for a WRAL account. You can do that by going to the top of the page and clicking on either "log in" or "register").

Help a Mom features questions from readers (or me!) every Wednesday. If you have a question that you'd like to ask Go Ask Mom readers, click here to email it to me.

Tribeca Tavern in Cary has the best kids menu I've ever seen.....awesome choices, great price, large portions......My 3 yr old had the grilled salmon with green beans. It was more than enough food for a 9 or 10 yr old. Comes with a choice of dessert and drink. Can't wait to go back! :)

Brio's has an awesome kid's menu. We usually don't go anywhere if they don't have a kid's menu. Chili's is good, too, and one night is always kid's night so no one cares how load it gets.

All Aboard Pizza in Holly Springs. They have healthy options as well as gluten free options and even have special days where kids eat free.

Try having kids who don't eat meat and can't eat much dairy! Our favorite is Neomonde. They don't really have a kids menu but pita and hummus and some fruit make a delish lunch or dinner.
