This brings back some major memories from my childhood (complete with a pink and white shirt with E.T.'s picture emblazoned on it that I wore everywhere): The N.C. Museum of Art will have a screening of E.T.: The Extra-Terretrial on Friday.
Because it's an outdoor movie, it starts late - 9 p.m. But this might be a great bonding experience for those of us with older kids. Tickets are just $4.
Other upcoming, family-friendly movies at the art museum include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on July 7; The Muppets on July 20; and Ghostbusters on Aug. 11. The movies all start at 9 p.m.
Click here for details on all the movies. Don't forget that the art museum also has a free Wednesday afternoon movie series for families now too.
(And, of course, don't forget to check out Go Ask Mom's free and cheap summer movie series database).
