Pardon me while I pull some video that's a few months old ... you can probably tell by the lack of leaves on the trees.
I visited Parrish Womble Park in Holly Springs back in March. The main features of this park are the soccer field and lighted baseball and softball fields with scorer's tower, which I'm sure drive a lot of traffic to this 46-acre park on game days.
The playground, which features two playsets for kids, some swings and bouncy rides, is pretty typical. There are slides, monkey bars and places to climb. The surface under the playsets is mulch.
But where there are fields, there also are open spaces for kids to run around and play (when games aren't scheduled). And that's probably what I like best about Womble Park: There's plenty of places for kids to burn off some energy.
Womble Park, 1201 Grigsby Ave. in Holly Springs. has parking near the playground and restrooms.
