Dora, Diego to stop at Tweetsie Railroad

If you're up for a drive and looking to explore North Carolina, Dora the Explorer and Diego will be at Tweetsie Railroad from June 22 to June 24 to greet visitors.

The Nickelodeon stars will meet, greet and pose for pictures from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the weekend. Tweetsie, the state's first theme park, is celebrating its 55th season this year. The park also includes the steam-powered Tweetsie locomotive, rides, a Western town, the Deer Park Zoo, and a scenic chair lift ride to Miner's Mountain where you can pan for gold.

Daily admission to Tweetsie Railroad is $35 for adults and $22 for children ages 3 through 12. Children 2 and under are admitted free.

Find Tweetsie Railroad in the Blue Ridge Mountains between Boone and Blowing Rock. It's about a 3.5 hour ride from Raleigh.

I haven't been to Tweetsie yet. I'd love to hear from people who have been.

We went last year to Tweetsie and Dora and Diego were there. Saw the show and they did pictures with the characters. My daughters enjoyed it very much and loved Tweetsie as that was their 1st trip there. Everyone at Tweetsie was so nice and it was not crowded even though we went in July. Also not too hot.
