Here's an event to add to your weekend plans:
Kids Together Playground in Cary will celebrate its birthday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, at the playground at Marla Dorrel Park, 111 Thurston Dr.
Special activities include a parade through the park, a reading of the Kids Together story reading Dr. Seuss-style, fruit slushies and other refreshments. It's free.
The park, one of my very favorite in the Triangle, offers pieces that are accessible for children with handicaps.
