Raleigh drama camp, Chapel Hill math camp need campers; does yours?

Wakefield Theatre Company will have a camp from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from July 9 to July 20 at Wakefield High School in north Raleigh. The cost is $350 and includes a camp T-shirt, music, script and instruction for the two weeks. Campers bring their own bag lunch. No previous experience is necessary. Math for Girls is designed specifically for young girls to enhance their understanding of and affinity for math. Girls will work together with a small number of campers and their teacher, Tracy Johnson. Johnson has a master's degree and doctorate in mathematics education from UNC-Chapel Hill and is certified to teach grades K-6 and 6-9 in math. She is a former first grade teacher at Rashkis and Seawell elementary schools. She also is the mom of a first grade daughter. There are four half-day, week-long sessions in June. It's for rising first to fifth graders. The cost is $150 per session. The camp takes place at Johnson's home in Chapel Hill's Lake Hogan Farms neighborhood. Click here for details.
