Raleigh makes changes to its free Sunday concert series

Instead of staying put at Fletcher Park all summer, the series will rotate to four different parks including Pullen Park.

Raleigh parks has switched up its usual summer concert series, which for years has taken over Fletcher Park on Sunday evenings. My family has been a regular to see the Sandbox Band play at at the park off Glenwood Avenue.
This year, the city is rotating the concerts to different parks around the city - Fletcher Park, Pullen Park, Lake Johnson and Lake Wheeler Park.

The concerts started on Memorial Day weekend and continue almost weekly at 6 p.m., Sundays, through the end of September. It's all free. Be sure to bring a blanket, lawn chairs and a picnic.

Here's the schedule for the rest of the summer:

JULY
1 Gravy Boys at Fletcher Park
8 SWAG at Lake Wheeler Park

AUGUST
5 Triangle Taiko at Fletcher Park
12 Grass Street at Lake Wheeler Park

SEPTEMBER
2 Sandbox at Fletcher Park
9 Laura Ridgeway W/Capital Transit at Lake Wheeler Park
16 Triangle Brass Band at Lake Johnson Park
