Morehead Planetarium and Science Center in Chapel Hill has a new show on its schedule, starring the preschool favorite Big Bird.

"One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure" opened to the public over the weekend. The show features Big Bird and Elmo, along with a new character named Hu Hu Zhu from China. The three characters learn about sunsets and finding starry shapes in the night sky. It's best for kids ages 4 to 6 and their adults.

Here's a description of the movie from Morehead: "Elmo and Hu Hu Zhu travel to the moon, where they discover that they can jump high, kick a soccer ball really far and need space helmets to breathe! Back on Earth, these friends realize that they can see the same stars in the night sky from their homes in the United States and in China."

This show was produced by Adler Planetarium in Chicago in partnership with several other planetariums and the Sesame Workshop.

The show is less than an hour. On Morehead's schedule through Aug. 19, "One World, One Sky" is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Admission to Morehead is $7.25 for adults and $6 for kids. If you see more than one planetarium show in a day, second and all subsequent planetarium shows are $3.
