Park Review: Cary's Urban Park

Published: 2012-05-24 20:41:37

Cary's Urban Park isn't big. It isn't unique, really, either. What it does have is shade.

And when temperatures are expected to soar into the 90s, the shade is where you want to be.

Urban Park, at 414 E. Chatham St. near downtown Cary, includes a playground with equipment for younger and older kids, a sand area, bucket and belt swings, a basketball court and picnic tables.

It's not too far from the new Cary Creative Center, if you're looking for a place to play or have a picnic before or after crafts.

For a closer look, watch the video.

Looking for other places to take the kids? Check our list of park and playground reviews and looks at Triangle family destinations. Go Ask Mom features places to take kids every Friday.

No bathroom and there's on-street parking except for a few spaces.

Does it have a bathroom and what's parking like?

I'm with you on the rubber surface lilypony ...

Sarah

It also has the poured rubber surfacing which is a huge bonus. It still hurts to fall on it but I love a playground that doesn't send the kids home with shoes full or sand or mulch.
