It's time for Go Ask Mom's Month of Mom contests!

It's May, which means Mother's Day is nearly here. But here at Go Ask Mom, we feel moms should get more than a day to celebrate. That's why we have the Month of Mom!

If you're a long-time Go Ask Mom reader, you know this means it's time for a month of fun contests. If you're new to Go Ask Mom, get ready for a month of fun contests!

What are the prizes this year? Here's what we have in no particular order:

Abigail Blosser, the professional photographer based in Durham, will be offering a free photography session and 8x10 print! I featured Abigail a few weeks ago. Check her website to see her work. Her photos are amazing!

Jenny's Cupcakery, run by local mom Jen Strain, is going to give away a dozen of her delicious cupcakes. I'll feature Jen on the site in the next couple of weeks. She strives to include organic and locally sourced products in her cupcakes. Let's just say that her Tahitian Holiday cupcake, a Madagascar vanilla cake topped with coconut rum frosting and toasted coconut, has my name written all over it.

The Museum of Life and Science will hold its Bubble Blitz on June 23, one of its many special events that it holds throughout the year. As always, this one is great fun with all kinds of hands-on activities and educational opportunities. I'll have four tickets to give away.

Speaking of tickets, the PNC Arena (formerly RBC Center) is kicking in some prizes for some great shows coming up.

I'll have four ticket vouchers to Sesame Street Live "Elmo's Super Heroes," which stops in Raleigh June 1 to June 3. The vouchers are good for any performance here in Raleigh.

I'll have a four pack of tickets to opening night of Apassionata "The Beginning," which stops in Raleigh from June 15 to June 17. The show has been one of Europe's most popular live arena shows for nearly a decade and features 40 horses and some amazing equine stunts by the world's best performers. The opening night show is 8 p.m., June 15.

And I have four tickets to Cirque du Soleil - Dralion to give away! The tickets are good for opening night, which is 7:30 p.m., Aug. 15. The show features a fusion of ancient Chinese circus traditions and the avant-garde style of Cirque du Soleil. Sounds amazing! The show will run from Aug. 15 to Aug. 19.

So how do you enter? I'll run each of these contests individually. You'll just need to check in to Go Ask Mom on a regular basis to find out which contest is live. And I'll give you a head start ... check in Sunday evening for the first contest!

Happy Month of Mom!
