Happy Easter weekend!

We still have egg hunts, visits with mall Easter bunnies and more this weekend. They include Raleigh Easter, which will feature 60,000 eggs on Halifax Mall in downtown Raleigh.

The Wake County Speedway will have an egg hunt at 2 p.m., Saturday. And the egg hunt at the Horace Williams House in Chapel Hill is at 10 a.m., Saturday. For details and information about other Easter events across the region, check our Easter event database.

Strawberry farms also are starting to open. Check our database of farms to find one near you (just check with the farm before you go to make sure they're ready for customers!).

Monster Jam rocks the PNC Arena (formerly RBC Center) in Raleigh with shows Friday and Saturday. Kids ages 2 to 12 get $10 off on the $20 and $25 seats. Here's your chance to see Grave Digger, Monster Mutt, AAP Grinder, Ironman, Stone Crusher and Monster Magic. Lots of big trucks and lots of noise.

The Carrboro Farmers' Market will switch over to its summer hours on Saturday. They are 7 a.m. to noon Saturday. The Wednesday afternoon market will open on April 11. The hours are 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Western Wake Farmers' Market in Cary also will launch its summer hours this weekend. They are 8 a.m. to noon, Saturdays. To mark Easter, the market will host an egg-themed market day with activities for kids including a make your own eggshell flower pot and an egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. There also will be face painting.

Marbles Kids Museum will hold one of its Barbie Bashes on Saturday. The event includes a viewing of "Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2" at Marbles' IMAX theater, followed by themed activities. All you need is a ticket to the 10 a.m. movie to participate. Friday also is the first Friday of the month, which means Marbles will stay open late and offer some special deals. It's just $10 for an entire family to play after 5 p.m. An adult and a child can play for $6. It's $2 more per additional guest (such as a friend or neighbor).

As I wrote last week, Duke Gardens' nature storytime is from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, for ages 3 to 7. The free, drop-in event includes a book and other activity. Duke's nature ranger cart, with free drop-in activities for kids and their adults, will be in the gardens from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday.

Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh is closed on Sunday, but the IMAX theater is open.

The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences is closed from Sunday to April 20 as staff prepares for the opening of the new Nature Research Center on April 21.

The N.C. Museum of History is closed Sunday.

The N.C. Museum of Art in Raleigh is open Sunday. One of the museum's free family tours is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

In Raleigh, Pullen Park's rides will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. all weekend.

The Museum of Life and Science in Durham will be open Sunday.

Morehead Planetarium and Science Center in Chapel Hill will be open Sunday with shows starting at 1:30 p.m.

Kidzu Children's Museum in Chapel Hill is closed on Sunday.

N.C. Zoo in Asheboro is open and recently unveiled a new Dinosaurs exhibit.
