I know the Triangle is focused on basketball right now (congratulations to Carolina and N.C. State!), but baseball season is just around the corner.

We're lucky to have two professional teams in the Triangle - the Durham Bulls in Durham and the Carolina Mudcats in Zebulon. Fans know that both offer great family fun at an affordable price. My family tries to make at least one game a year at both parks.

Now is a great time to look at the schedules if you know your kids will be tracked out or on school break. Spring breaks in the Triangle are the first or second week in April for many kids. Tickets are on sale now.

The Durham Bulls put on a great show for families with everything from fireworks to mascots to special events and activities for kids.
Before you pick a game, be sure to check out the website's promotions page to find out what special events and appearances are scheduled. Click here for the game schedule. Tickets start at $6.99 for Bulls games. All fans, 3 years and older, must have a ticket for entry. The first home game is April 5.
The Carolina Mudcats in Zebulon start their season with a home exhibition on April 3. They have a series of specials throughout the season. There are fireworks after Friday night games. Kids can run the bases after Sunday games. And hot dogs are $1 on Tuesdays. I'm told the team will update their website this week with additional activities, but there are some special events next month including Halfway to Halloween on April 20 when fans are encouraged to dress up.
Mudcats tickets start at $6. Except in the premium field level and Cattails Skybox, kids 3 and under are admitted for free. Tickets for kids ages 4 to 6 are $3. Get $1 off each ticket for kids ages 7 to 15. Click here for the schedule.
Of course, we have some great college baseball teams here too. They include {{a href="external_link-10876176"{{/a}}Carolina{{/a}}, N.C. State and Duke.
