Cary Arts Center to feature Rapunzel this weekend

When the Cary Arts Center opened last year, staffers were able to expand the town's offerings for families, including the addition of the Marvelous Music Family Series.

This weekend, a performance of Rapunzel will close out the series for the season. The children's classic, made popular again thanks to the Disney movie "Tangled," is presented by the Tarradiddle Players and stays true to the original Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Tarradiddle Players, the resident touring company of the Children's Theatre of Charlotte, has performed for more than one million kids during the past 39 years.

Tarradiddle Player's website says the performance is less than an hour and best for second to sixth graders.

Tickets to the 3 p.m., Sunday, performance are $5 and can be purchased online at www.etix.com; by phone by calling 800-514-3849; or  in person at the Cary Arts Center Box Office from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturdays. Tickets may also be available at the door.

The series also featured a puppet show in November and storyteller in February.

The Cary Arts Center is at 101 Dry Ave. in Cary.

Thanks for the update.

Thanks for your question. I just updated the post. Tarradiddle's website says the hour-long performance is best for second to sixth graders.

Sarah

I would like a little more information regarding this offering. Our two year old granddaughter loves "Punzel" and I'm curious as to whether this would be someting that might capture the attention of a child her age. Thanks in advance.
