A fan posted a question on our Facebook page this week and I told her I'd pose it here too.

Here's what she wrote:

Fairly new to the area and I have yet to find a website or compilation of educational summer programs for now rising eighth and ninth graders. Any suggestions?

I asked for a bit more information about what her kids might be interested in. She wrote that her rising eighth grader would enjoy a math or science camp. She's looking for a reading or social studies-related camp for her rising ninth grader. She'd like the camps to be nearby, but she's willing to travel most anywhere in the Raleigh and Durham area.

I suggested IMACS, which I wrote about a few months ago. Many of the Triangle's colleges and universities also offer camps. The Wake County school system has a page with a link to many of these programs. Click here for details.
And, of course, I shared the link to the Go Ask Mom camp database.

I know she'd love to hear from other parents whose older kids have enjoyed camps in the Triangle.
